Southern Cross Pub 55.675159, 12.572487 Southern Cross Pub

The Southern Cross has been a bar for over 100 years. It has traded under various names in that time span. From the Tequila Bar, Nezer’s Piano Bar and Hos Simon it finally ended up being the Southern Cross. Nezer was a popular Danish Jazz musician and Simon Rosenbaum was the brother of the late Danish comedian pianist Victor Borge.

The aims of the Southern Cross are to promote Australian beers and wines. Over the past couple of years we have installed various satellite systems, enabling us to obtain sports coverage worldwide. We endeavour to show all rugby, cricket and Aussie rules football whenever possible, regardless of what time they are on air. We also show American football, icehockey, basketball, premier league football, etc. etc.

Though a ‘normal’ bar during the week, we change the upstairs bar into a disco on Friday and Saturday nights. We have a number of DJs, that turn the tables on a rotational basis, making sure there is something for everyone – from the latest pop music, to underground music from the 80s, R&B, you name it and we are pretty sure they’ve got it. Starts around 10 pm every Friday and Saturday.
